FAQs

What is The Pearl Exchange?

The Pearl Exchange is a charity that provides a creative, collaborative space designed to improve the lives of 18-35 year olds in Bude and the surrounding area. We support young adults through creative practices, counselling, wellbeing and cultural experiences, as well as facilitating meaningful connections within the community.

Who can come to The Pearl Exchange?

All of our workshops are open to everyone between the age of 18-35.

Do I have to pay to attend?

No – we fundraise to ensure our programme is completely free of charge. As well as our workshops at The Pearl Exchange, we’ve partnered with Cornwall Counselling For Social Change to provide free counselling for 18-35 year olds.

Do I have to book?

We recommend booking online before attending a workshop. This reserves your place and helps us to get an idea of numbers. Drop-ins are welcome, though you will be asked to fill in a short form upon arrival, and if we’re full we may have to turn you away!

How do I donate to The Pearl Exchange?

We are always extremely grateful for financial contributions as it allows us to continue running our programme free of charge. You can donate here or contact [email protected] if you are interested in becoming a benefactor.

Can I donate items?

We are not currently accepting donations. Thanks to the generosity of the people of Bude, we no longer have room!

Can I book the Pitch and Putt building for events?

Unfortunately we can’t rent out the building for events. However, if you’re part of a community group looking for a one-off space to host something, it is worth an ask as we’re keen to work with other groups who align with our ethos – use our contact form to enquire.

I want to run a workshop. How do I get in touch?

We love hearing new ideas for workshops. If there’s something you’d like to teach, use our contact form and we will get back to you if we’re interested.

I can’t drive, how can I get to The Pearl Exchange?

Visit Find Us for directions, bus services and a list of local taxis. We have a small grant available for transport costs, so if you’re struggling to get here, get in contact with us and we may be able to cover your transport.
